Today we have had the great honour of receiving at Terra Branca three students from the Dionisio Gamallo High School in Ribadeo, who have versioned a work by Mariángel Leal. The painter congratulated María Antonia, Alex and Manuel live via videoconference from Terra Branca Mallorca (Colònia de Sant Jordi). Our gallery would like to thank their educator Maky and her team for this beautiful initiative. The Terra Branca Gallery, in Ribadeo, presents a new exclusive collection of accessories made by the craftswoman Iria Pigueiras, who lives in Vilalba. This new proposal is based on paintings by the painter Mariángel Leal.
The owner of Terra Branca, José Ramón Leal, explains that "my sister Mariángel and I met Iria in our Terra Chá of origin, since, although she was born in Viveiro, she is based in the parish of Santaballa in Vilalba. We immediately hit it off and the three of us were enthusiastic about this new project. We had already had a first contact with Iria at the Ramón Falcón School in Lugo, but until now we had not worked together". José Ramón Leal points out that "the pieces are completely handmade and are made of sterling silver, polymer clay and resins. The collection consists of brooches, necklaces, earrings and other accessories. We also do not rule out making new designs with Iria Pigueiras, as she works in different fields of artistic expression". This new collection of the Terra Branca Gallery is based on the paintings of Mariángel Leal who shares, through her colourful and contemporary work, a collection full of nuances. Galician folklore, music and even some homage to geniuses of modern painting are reflected, among others. Very soon will be on sale the book of poems by Paco Rivas with cover by the artist Mariángel Leal.
It can already be seen in the shop window of the publishing house Medulia in A Coruña. The writer commissioned the cover to Terra Branca. "We decided to choose this work by Mariángel which, although it is a painting with a lot of colour, has a notable load of melancholy. Thus introducing the reader to the theme of Rivas' texts". The book will be available at our usual points of sale and on our web page www.galeriaterrabranca.com. The letter "My dear Lucia" by Arantxa Gonzalez Montell from Vegadeo, has won the VII edition of the contest "Love letters" of the Terra Branca Gallery. We want to congratulate Arantxa and all the participants. THANK YOU AND SEE YOU NEXT YEAR !!!! My dear Lucia
Today I feel that my shoes drag years of intense struggle and on this road, fatigue stops me once again. I catch my breath, one last sigh before I take this cane that so often holds my fears and I choose, a little forced, a bench almost as decrepit as me, and I would almost bet that with hundreds of stories to tell, although I doubt that they could be more beautiful than ours, my dear Lucia. An imposed distance separates us, but I feel you here, sitting on my bench, scolding me because today I didn't match my socks well either, maybe it's too late to learn that navy and black don't get along, but don't worry, because this morning I took my pills well, your white porcelain pillbox keeps helping me. Here the sky is blue, the sun's rays hit against my wrinkles and although I almost have to close my eyes, I can greet the birds that flutter over the park, yes, they're the ones you like so much. Today I've also brought them bread, I throw them some crumbs, but I'm sure that, in them, they miss the sweetness of your hands. Guess whose laughter is the most heard among all the laughter of the children on the slide. Yes, little Cata, who gives life to our days and who, by the way, I don't see her there anymore, but don't worry, I'm sure she'll show up soon. I was telling you, she comes to our bench, with her curls jumping in the air and with her magic, she takes a beautiful flower from her back, a daisy, today the field is full of them, she puts it in my hands, not before sealing it with a kiss, and she tells me that it is for her grandmother, for you, my dear Lucia. This afternoon, like every day, when I go to see you, I will bring it to you. Arantxa González Montell Today we have inaugurated a showcase in the beautiful Hotel O Cabazo in Ribadeo. The clients will be able to buy our pieces directly in the Hotel, as a souvenir of their stay in A Mariña Lucense. We would like to thank the owners of "O Cabazo" for giving us this magnificent space to exhibit our Galician ceramic pieces. "O Cabazo" is really a unique place, with an impeccable service. Totally recommendable. We invite you to read this interesting interview of the poet Paco Rivas, published today February 3rd in "La Voz de Galicia". Paco has commissioned Terra Branca the cover of his latest book. The artist Mariángel Leal has been inspired by the title "Rosas envaiñadas" to paint this picture, as this is the name of this work of the writer from Focó. We enclose the image of the oil painting chosen for "Rosas envaiñadas" and we encourage you to buy it, because it will also be sold in our gallery and on our website. www.galeriaterrabranca.com We say goodbye quoting the headline of Paco Rivas: "Reading you can live a thousand lives and if not, you live a very boring one". The work for "Rosas envaiñadas" by Mariángel Leal

The owner of Terra Branca commented that "the jury will be formed by Mini López-Santos Santiago and myself, and we will have another year with the invaluable professional advice of the poet Paco Rivas. The winning letter will be read on Radio Foz, Radio Voz and published on the most important social networks". These days we are presenting in Terra Branca the new pieces of the mariñano ceramist Alfonso Otero Regal.
The sea continues to be a great source of inspiration for artists. The pieces of high temperature ceramic (1340º), made up of kaolin, feldspar and quartz, pay homage to the people of the sea, their fauna and elements related to that magical underwater universe. The decorations of the works make these signature pieces unique and unrepeatable. For that reason, Terra Branca certifies piece by piece, giving evidence of that exclusivity. These new decorative elements can be seen in the Avenida de Galicia nº8 in Ribadeo or visiting our website www.galeriaterrabranca.com.
On Sunday 23rd August we recorded the new spot for Terra Branca Gallery in the beautiful Portiño de Nois in A Mariña Lucence.
We had the collaboration of Marina, who modelled for us. Isabel Buján did the photo session and I, José Ramón Leal, was in charge of the filming with camera and drone. A beautiful afternoon, in which we unleashed all our audiovisual passions. After editing the video and composing the melody (Terra Branca Audiovisuais), we are delighted to present our work to you. The voiceover is by a great friend of mine and excellent professional in the world of radio, Carmen Cruzado Iglesias from the communication agency Faro Norte de Ribadeo. Marina wore several accessories from our firm, among which the wonderful silk scarves from the collection of the painter Mariángel Leal (my dearest sister) stand out. We hope you enjoy the new spot. José Ramón Leal Segura. Terra Branca managing director. The Federation of Galician Cultural Entities of Catalonia distributes its Alecrins 2020 in Castro Caldelas.
We would like to thank Fegalcat for continuing to entrust Terra Branca with its Alecrins Awards every year. It is an honour for us to be present at such an important event. Congratulations! Terra Branca's unisex T-shirts are now available on our website. Based on the pictorial work of Mariángel Leal, we have paid a tribute to enclaves of Ribadeo and contemporary paintings of this artist. The garments are 100% cotton and we have a wide range of sizes and colors. Our friend Rafa Obando wearing our T-shirts.
Today we had the pleasure of receiving Yoseba MP in Terra Branca. He signed our guestbook and we talked about his incredible work. Behind each of his murals there is a story and a why. Thank you Yoseba for your talent.
Black and white is the common denominator of Terra Branca's new creations. It is a first step towards a basic concept of contemporary design. The collection is composed of several unisex watches and decorative wall clocks. The idea of the design arises from some striking photos of backlights, which motivated Terra Branca to carry out this project. Here are the steps followed by Terra Branca designs for the creation of the wall clock of A Pontenova. ![]() 1. Photo ovens with background override. ![]() 2. Simplified and vectorized image. ![]() 3. Model of the sphere. ![]() 4. Watch finished in methacrylate. Every year in Terra Branca we design a new poster in homage to the Ribadeo Indiano. This 2020 is an atypical year because we will not be able to enjoy our beautiful party. That's why we wanted to express with this image a song to hope. We are sure that next year will be an unforgettable celebration for everyone. Let us look together towards that horizon... that a year goes by so quickly!
Long live Ribadeo. Mariángel Leal paints Galicia and puts it in your hand.
Painter with Galician blood (her father was from Lugo), whose steps are marked with colour, joy and emotion. Granddaughter, great-granddaughter and cousin of painters, she has never given up painting since she started, when she was 13 or 14. She started her career at Maestro Tárrega's Academy and then went to Fine Arts in Barcelona. Today, some of her works of art are within your reach. Mariángel paints Galicia over time and has turned landscapes such as As Catedrais beach, the Isla Pancha lighthouse or the Moreno Tower into watches, all of which are limited editions. "There is something we always carry with us, wherever we go" says Mariángel and that, in her case, is Galicia. In Terra Branca Gallery we keep on working hard to make things easier for you and that, even if you can't come to see us, we are just a "click away" and always available. Be it on your PC, tablet or mobile phone, Galician art is within your reach, now more than ever. We invite you to visit our gallery in this online journey.
This week we have delivered the clock that we raffled off at Terra Branca last Monday on our Facebook page.
Congratulations to the winners! And thank you very much to all of you who participated. By the way, they already have it set up in their house! |
